Sevilla (Seville) is a city found at the Southern area of Spain, in Andalusia. It is considered to be the capital or culture, arts, and of finance in the southern Spain. The city has been around for more than 2,000 years, and it has continued to develop over that long span of time. Because of its long existence, the people in this city have grown a personality distinct to them. They also value very much their history and culture as they have preserved a large historical centre.

This city features a very interesting and fascinating culture, having a handful of different qualities of different cultures mixed together. Sevilla is home to a very famous form of dance, the Flamenco. Fantastic museums could also be found around the city, and the buildings around the area are of stunning architecture. Not only is Sevilla a cultural and historical centre, it is also a city of romance, with the many Spanish features.

Another great thing about this city is that it enjoys a wonderful warm climate. During the day, the sky is mostly blue, with a few clouds, and people could enjoy strolling under the sunshine. While during the night, the city center of Seville is full of restaurants and bars to enjoy the night life.

During the Roman times, the city was known as Hispalis. Some Roman features can still be found in the city because it was expected to look like Italica, a Roman city nearby. The city was then taken over by Vandals and Visigoths, then by the Moors, from whom the current name "Sevilla" was derived from. Up to now, the city maintains some Moorish features such as sections of the large city wall. The development of Sevilla continued after the Reconquest period, and many public buildings were constructed.

In 1649, the population of the city was reduced by almost one half because Seville was struck by a plague known as the Great Plague of Seville. The city only recovered during the 1800s. Then the city continued to grow and develop further due to the industrialization of the 19th and 20th centuries.
