The city of Milan is the capital of Lombardy, whose inhabitants reach about a population of 1.3 million. It is many varied industrial sectors as it is the biggest industrial city of Italy. Milan is a fascinating point for models, designers, photographers, and artists. It is a city with palazzos and interesting buildings that people form all parts of the world would like to see.

Italy's climate is principally Mediterranean: hot and dry in the south; Alpine in the far north. The temperature in Milan range from 0 to 8 degrees Celsius; winter is foggy but relatively mild. The temperature on summer ranges from 14 to 29 degrees. Summer is very humid but brief thunderstorms are mostly experienced.

Milan's history goes back when Gauls settled and defeated the Etruscans in 400 B.C. In 222 B.C. the city was annexed to the Roman Empire. The first bishop of Milan was Bishop Ambrogio, an influential person who was responsible in making the church the Ambrosian Church. In 1300 the noblemen from Piacenza, Parma, Bergamo, Parma, and Brescia, ruled Milan and brought wealth and glory to the city. These noblemen are the Visconti family.

The Sforza family assumed the power from the Visconti family. The city began the development of literature, arts, and sciences. Ludovico Sforza invited Leonardo da Vinci and "il Bramante" to his court. Famous artists from various eras have been frequent guests of the Sforza family.
There was a change of art and culture in the Renaissance. The Cathedral is the third largest church in the world. It has immense statues, pinnacles, and pillars.

Milan is the center of various financial businesses. Fiera Milano, is one of the most important in the world. It is the city's Trade Fair complex and Exhibition Center which is the largest in the world. Milan is the principal industrial city of Italy with various industrial sectors as chemistry, manufacturing of textiles and garments, mechanical tools, car manufactory, and heavy machinery.

Festivals and events which take place once a year. During these events a typical costume is displayed. The most famous festival is the Tredesin de mars or Fair of Flowers on 13 March.
